Custard Squash

It has been the venue for two memorable (well, from the photos!) tours and now Aberdeen is home to the first Custard team! A new country, a new team and also a new sport! Lesley skippers the first squash team for Hot Custard and tells us a little about how it came about.

"We are a ladies team who normally compete in the Aberdeen ladies league and have won that title for the last 5 years (Woohoo!)- we were unbeaten last year! So, on that back of that winning streak and with several confidence-boosting drinks in us, we decided that we needed a more competitive league, so we decided to enter the Open Leagues (men's leagues really) last season. With only 4 players to a ladies team, and required for the open league, we opted to add some males to give us additional strength and depth in our squad and to have someone to go to the bar for us. We're also working on them having to wear skirts to play... kilts would do! So our first season saw us win 8 from 21 matches - not too bad and we didn't finish bottom at least! This year we've 'officially' joined the Hot Custard ranks and we're aiming to better our previous season. And keep sending the blokes to the bar..!
